This quick and elegant appetizer features creamy brie topped with toasted almonds and honey, broiled until gooey and golden. Perfect for effortless entertaining, it’s a crowd-pleaser that comes together in just minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 wheel brie cheese (8 oz)
  • 1/3 cup slivered or sliced almonds
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • Pinch flaky sea salt (optional, for finishing)
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven broiler to high and position a rack about 6 inches from the heat source.
  2. Line a small baking sheet or ovenproof dish with parchment paper. Place the brie wheel in the center.
  3. In a small skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the almonds and toast, stirring constantly, for 2-3 minutes until fragrant and lightly browned. Remove from heat.
  4. Sprinkle the toasted almonds evenly over the brie. Drizzle with honey. Add a pinch of flaky sea salt if desired.
  5. Broil the brie for 2-3 minutes, watching closely, until the honey bubbles, almonds toast further, and brie starts to ooze but does not collapse.
  6. Remove from oven and let the brie sit for 2-3 minutes to settle. Garnish with fresh thyme or rosemary if using.
  7. Transfer to a serving platter and serve warm with crackers, apple slices, or crusty bread.

Notes

For dairy-free, use vegan brie and margarine. Substitute pecans or walnuts for almonds, or use pumpkin seeds for nut-free. Watch the broiler closely to avoid over-melting. Brie rind is edible and adds flavor. Serve with fruit and crackers for a complete platter.
