An easy and delicious homemade treat combining smooth dark chocolate with fresh strawberries, perfect for gifting or snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 oz dark chocolate chips
  • 4 oz white chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup chopped toasted nuts (optional)
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Slice 1 cup of fresh strawberries into thin, even pieces, and set aside.
  2. Place 10 oz dark chocolate chips and 1 tbsp unsalted butter in a heatproof bowl over simmering water. Stir gently until smooth and glossy, avoiding steam or water contact with the chocolate.
  3. Pour the melted chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet. Use a spatula to spread it evenly into a roughly 9×12 inch rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  4. Immediately scatter the sliced strawberries evenly over the chocolate. Sprinkle chopped toasted nuts and a pinch of sea salt if desired. Press lightly so they stick but don’t push too hard.
  5. Melt 4 oz white chocolate chips in the same way. Use a spoon to drizzle thin lines over the top for contrast and extra sweetness (optional).
  6. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes until the chocolate is firm and set.
  7. Once set, break the bark into irregular pieces with your hands. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.

Notes

Use a double boiler to melt chocolate gently to avoid burning. Pat strawberries dry if using frozen to prevent sogginess. Adding a pinch of sea salt enhances flavor. Toast nuts for extra crunch. Store bark in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks or freeze for up to three months.
