A warm, creamy, and comforting latte made with bergamot-infused Earl Grey tea, steamed milk, vanilla syrup, and a subtle hint of lavender. Perfect for cozy moments and easy to make in under 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 Earl Grey tea bags
  • 1 cup (240 ml) water
  • 1 cup (240 ml) whole milk (or almond/oat milk for dairy-free)
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla syrup
  • ¼ teaspoon dried culinary lavender (optional)
  • Honey or maple syrup to taste (optional)
  • Pinch of ground cinnamon or nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil 1 cup (240 ml) of water until it reaches a rolling boil, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Place 2 Earl Grey tea bags and ¼ teaspoon dried lavender (if using) into the hot water. Cover and steep for 5-7 minutes. Remove tea bags and lavender, squeezing gently to extract flavor.
  3. While the tea steeps, heat 1 cup (240 ml) of milk gently in a small saucepan over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally to avoid skin or scorching. Heat to about 150°F (65°C), warm but not boiling.
  4. Froth the milk using a milk frother or handheld whisk. Alternatively, pour warmed milk into a jar with a lid and shake vigorously for about 30 seconds until frothy.
  5. Stir 2 tablespoons of vanilla syrup into the steeped tea. Adjust sweetness with honey or maple syrup if desired.
  6. Pour the sweetened tea into a mug, then gently add the frothed milk on top.
  7. Sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for a warming touch if desired.
  8. Enjoy immediately.

Notes

Do not rush steeping the tea to avoid bitterness; 7 minutes is ideal. Heat milk gently to avoid skin or boiling. Whole milk froths better than skim or plant-based milks. Adjust sweetness carefully to preserve bergamot flavor. For thicker froth, chill frother whisk or jar before use. Store vanilla syrup in fridge and shake before use.
