A rich and smoky creamy dip featuring bacon, cheddar cheese, and a blend of cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Perfect for parties and gatherings, this dip is quick to prepare and always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 68 strips thick-cut bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 3 tablespoons finely sliced green onions
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon: Place 6-8 strips of thick-cut bacon in a cold skillet. Turn heat to medium and cook until crispy, about 8-10 minutes, flipping occasionally. Transfer to paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease. Let cool, then crumble into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Soften the cream cheese: Let 8 ounces of cream cheese soften at room temperature for about 20 minutes.
  3. Mix the base: In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, 1 cup sour cream, and 1/2 cup mayonnaise. Blend with electric mixer or whisk until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add cheeses and seasonings: Stir in 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, 3 tablespoons sliced green onions, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, and 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce. Season with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Mix gently.
  5. Fold in bacon: Carefully fold in crumbled bacon pieces, reserving some for garnish if desired.
  6. Chill: Cover bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
  7. Serve: Before serving, sprinkle reserved bacon and extra green onions on top. Serve with crackers, tortilla chips, fresh veggies, or toasted baguette slices.

Notes

Softening the cream cheese before mixing ensures a smooth texture. Cook bacon slowly over medium heat for best crispiness. Freshly shred cheese for better melt and flavor. Chill dip for at least 2 hours to let flavors meld. Bring dip to room temperature 15 minutes before serving for easier scooping.
