A quick and fuss-free air fryer salmon recipe that delivers perfectly crispy skin and flaky tender flesh, topped with a bright and buttery lemon dill butter.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 skin-on salmon fillets (6 oz / 170 g each)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (about 56 g), softened
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped
  • 1 small clove garlic, minced (optional)
  • Lemon zest from one lemon

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry using paper towels to remove moisture.
  2. Rub the fillets all over with olive oil, then sprinkle salt and pepper evenly.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and let it warm up for 3 minutes.
  4. Arrange salmon fillets skin-side down in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each piece.
  5. Air fry the salmon at 400°F (200°C) for 7-9 minutes, checking at 7 minutes to avoid overcooking.
  6. While salmon cooks, combine softened butter, lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic, and chopped dill in a small bowl and mix until smooth.
  7. Carefully transfer salmon fillets to a plate and let rest for 2 minutes.
  8. Spoon a generous dollop of lemon dill butter over each fillet before serving.

Notes

Pat salmon dry before cooking for best crispiness. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to allow proper air circulation. Check salmon at 7 minutes to avoid overcooking. Butter should be softened but not melted when mixing with herbs and lemon juice. Let salmon rest after cooking to keep it juicy. For dairy-free version, substitute butter with vegan butter or olive oil-based spread.
