These Crispy Witch Finger Pretzel Rods are a quick and easy Halloween treat featuring pretzel rods dipped in white chocolate with almond ‘nails’ and optional spooky red ‘blood’ details. Perfect for parties or a fun snack, they combine sweet, salty, and crunchy textures.

Ingredients

Scale
  • About 20 medium-sized pretzel rods
  • 12 ounces (340 grams) white chocolate chips or melting wafers
  • 20 whole almonds, peeled if desired
  • Green gel food coloring (optional)
  • Red decorating gel or melted red candy melts (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) butter or coconut oil

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat and prepare pretzel rods and almonds.
  2. Melt white chocolate chips and butter or coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second increments, stirring until smooth (about 2–3 minutes). Add green gel food coloring if desired.
  3. Dip each pretzel rod about two-thirds into the melted chocolate, letting excess drip off, then place on the lined baking sheet.
  4. Press one almond onto the tip of each dipped pretzel rod while the chocolate is still wet, angling it to mimic a fingernail.
  5. Use a toothpick or back of a spoon to add knuckle indentations along the chocolate.
  6. Refrigerate the baking sheet for about 20 minutes to harden the chocolate.
  7. Add red ‘blood’ details around the almond nails using red decorating gel or melted red candy melts (optional).
  8. Return pretzels to the fridge for another 10 minutes to set the red gel.
  9. Arrange on a platter and serve.

Notes

Melt white chocolate slowly to avoid graininess. Add butter or coconut oil to thin chocolate if needed. Work quickly when adding almonds to ensure they stick. Let chocolate fully set before adding red gel to avoid smearing. Store in airtight container in fridge up to 5 days or freeze for longer storage.
