Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups pecan halves (unsalted, fresh)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 large egg white
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 cup mini pretzels
  • 1 cup Chex cereal (rice or corn)
  • 1/2 cup honey-roasted peanuts
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries or raisins (optional)
  • 1/4 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/4 cup coconut flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk egg white until frothy (about 1 minute by hand). Add pecan halves and toss to coat evenly.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt. Stir in vanilla extract if using.
  4. Sprinkle the sugar-cinnamon mixture over the egg white-coated pecans. Stir gently until all pecans are coated.
  5. Spread pecans in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 30-35 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  6. Remove from oven and let pecans cool on the pan for 10-15 minutes until crisp.
  7. In a large bowl, combine cooled praline pecans, mini pretzels, Chex cereal, honey-roasted peanuts, and dried cranberries or raisins. Stir to distribute.
  8. Add white chocolate chips and coconut flakes if desired. Gently stir to combine.
  9. Taste and adjust salt or cinnamon as preferred.
  10. Transfer mix to jars, tins, or airtight containers. Store at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

For gluten-free, use gluten-free pretzels and Chex. For nut-free, substitute sunflower and pumpkin seeds for pecans and peanuts. Whisk egg white until frothy for best coating. Cool pecans completely before mixing with other ingredients. Store in airtight container for up to 2 weeks. If mix softens, re-crisp in oven at 300°F for 5 minutes.
