A rich and indulgent chocolate pecan pie with a buttery crust, perfect for holiday gatherings and celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 Β½ cups whole pecans, toasted
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Β½ cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ΒΎ cup corn syrup (light or dark)
  • 3 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Place your oven rack in the center position.
  2. Roll out your pie crust and gently press it into your 9-inch pie pan. Trim the edges and crimp them for a decorative touch. Chill the crust in the refrigerator while you prepare the filling.
  3. Toast the pecans in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently. They should smell fragrant, but be careful not to burn them.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth and fully combined.
  5. Scatter the toasted pecans and semi-sweet chocolate chips evenly over the bottom of the chilled pie crust.
  6. Pour the filling mixture over the pecans and chocolate chips, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  7. Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 50-55 minutes. The filling should be set but slightly jiggly in the center.
  8. Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool completely on a wire rack.

Notes

[‘Toast the pecans to enhance their flavor.’, ‘Use room-temperature eggs for a smoother filling.’, ‘Cover crust edges with aluminum foil or a pie crust shield if they brown too quickly.’, ‘Let the pie cool completely before slicing to ensure the filling sets properly.’]
