These sliders combine smoky bacon, sweet honey mustard, and juicy chicken in soft slider buns for a quick, easy, and crowd-pleasing family meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, pounded to even thickness
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked until crispy
  • 8 small slider buns (such as King’s Hawaiian or mini brioche)
  • Lettuce leaves (leaf lettuce or romaine), washed and dried
  • 1 medium tomato, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together honey, Dijon mustard, mayonnaise, and apple cider vinegar until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Place chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound to about 1/2 inch thickness using a meat mallet or rolling pin.
  3. Season both sides of the chicken with salt and pepper.
  4. Heat a grill pan or cast iron skillet over medium-high heat with a drizzle of oil. Cook chicken for 4-5 minutes per side until internal temperature reaches 165Β°F (74Β°C). Remove from heat and brush generously with honey mustard sauce while warm.
  5. Cook bacon slices in a separate skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Brush slider buns lightly with melted butter and place on a baking sheet. Toast in oven for 5 minutes or until golden and slightly crisp.
  7. Assemble sliders by spreading a thin layer of honey mustard sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Layer with lettuce, tomato slice, honey mustard-coated chicken, and bacon. Top with the bun.
  8. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

Pound chicken evenly for juicy, tender meat. Cook bacon separately for crispness. Toast buns with melted butter to prevent sogginess. Brush honey mustard sauce on warm chicken to help it soak in without sliding off. For gluten-free, use gluten-free rolls or lettuce wraps. Sauce can be made ahead and stored in fridge up to a week.
