This baked brie recipe combines gooey, melted brie with tangy cranberry sauce and crunchy pecans, all wrapped in flaky puff pastry for the ultimate holiday appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces brie cheese (whole wheel)
  • Cranberry sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • Pecans (toasted and chopped)
  • Puff pastry (thawed but still cold)
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • Brown sugar (optional)
  • Fresh thyme (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry if needed to ensure it’s large enough to fully wrap around the brie. Place the brie in the center of the pastry.
  3. Spread a generous layer of cranberry sauce over the top of the brie.
  4. Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the cranberry sauce. If you like a touch of sweetness, sprinkle a small amount of brown sugar on top.
  5. Carefully fold the puff pastry around the brie, ensuring it’s fully enclosed. Trim any excess pastry and pinch the seams so they’re sealed.
  6. Brush the entire pastry with the beaten egg. This will give it that beautiful golden color.
  7. Transfer the wrapped brie to your prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh thyme, if desired.

Notes

[‘Keep the puff pastry cold to prevent it from becoming sticky.’, ‘Seal the edges of the pastry tightly to avoid leaks during baking.’, ‘Toast the pecans for enhanced flavor and crunch.’, ‘Let the baked brie cool for 5 minutes before serving to prevent excessive oozing.’]
