This baked feta recipe combines creamy feta, sweet honey, and crunchy toasted walnuts for a simple yet elegant appetizer that’s perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 block of feta cheese (approximately 8 ounces)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/4 cup toasted walnuts
  • Fresh thyme (optional)
  • Cracked black pepper
  • Bread or crackers for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
  2. Place the block of feta in the center of a small baking dish. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, ensuring the surface is evenly coated.
  3. Sprinkle freshly cracked black pepper over the feta and scatter the toasted walnuts around the edges. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of honey over the top of the cheese.
  4. Optional: Add a few sprigs of fresh thyme for garnish.
  5. Bake the dish in the oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is warm and slightly softened at the edges.
  6. Switch to the broil setting for 1-2 minutes to lightly caramelize the honey and give the feta a golden hue. Watch closely to avoid burning.
  7. While the feta bakes, toast slices of bread or crackers for serving.
  8. Remove the dish from the oven and let it cool for 2-3 minutes before serving. Pair with toasted bread or crackers and enjoy!

Notes

Use high-quality feta in brine for creaminess. Toast walnuts for enhanced flavor. Keep an eye on the broiling step to avoid burning the honey.
