Maple-Bourbon Bacon Crack

Maple-Bourbon Bacon Crack - featured image

Crispy, caramelized bacon infused with smoky bourbon and sweet maple syrup, layered over flaky crackers and baked to perfection. The ultimate party snack—sweet, salty, and indulgent.

Ingredients

  • Thick-cut bacon
  • Maple syrup
  • Bourbon
  • Brown sugar
  • Crackers (e.g., Ritz or club crackers)
  • Cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Lay out your crackers in a single layer across the baking sheet. They should be close together but not overlapping.
  3. Cut the bacon slices into thirds so that each piece fits neatly on top of a cracker.
  4. In a small saucepan, combine the maple syrup, bourbon, brown sugar, and cayenne pepper. Heat over low-medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves and the mixture thickens slightly (about 2-3 minutes).
  5. Place a piece of bacon on top of each cracker. Using a pastry brush or spoon, generously coat the bacon with the maple-bourbon glaze.
  6. Place the tray in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the glaze is bubbling. Rotate the tray halfway through for even cooking.
  7. Let the bacon crack cool for 5-10 minutes to allow the glaze to set. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Thick-cut bacon works best for this recipe. Adjust cayenne pepper for desired spice level. Serve fresh for maximum crunch and flavor.
