Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground turkey (93% lean preferred)
  • 1/4 cup fresh breadcrumbs (or panko)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme (or 1 tsp fresh, chopped)
  • 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp bourbon (or apple juice for non-alcoholic)
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise (light or avocado mayo optional)
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 12 slider buns (brioche, potato, or whole wheat)
  • Butter lettuce leaves (optional)
  • Sliced tomato (optional)
  • Pickles

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, parsley, chives, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well and refrigerate.
  2. In a small saucepan, whisk together maple syrup, bourbon (or apple juice), ketchup, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, and cayenne. Heat over medium-low, stirring occasionally, until thickened and glossy (6-8 minutes). Remove from heat.
  3. In a large bowl, mix ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, Dijon, salt, pepper, and thyme. Mix gently until just combined.
  4. Divide mixture into 12 equal portions and shape into slider-sized patties (about 2.5 inches wide). Place on a baking sheet.
  5. Heat a nonstick skillet or grill pan over medium-high. Add a splash of oil, then cook patties in batches for 3-4 minutes per side, until browned and cooked through (internal temp 165°F).
  6. Brush maple bourbon glaze over hot patties, flip, and brush again. Let sizzle for 30 seconds to caramelize.
  7. Split slider buns and toast lightly in oven or skillet for 1-2 minutes (optional).
  8. Spread herbed mayo on bun bottoms. Add lettuce, glazed turkey patty, tomato slice, and pickle. Top with bun lid.
  9. Arrange sliders on a platter, sprinkle with extra parsley if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

For gluten-free sliders, use gluten-free breadcrumbs and buns. For dairy-free, use vegan mayo. Chill patties before cooking for best texture. Toast buns to prevent sogginess. Glaze patties while hot for best flavor. Patties can be made ahead and reheated. Substitute apple juice for bourbon if desired.
