Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (200g) brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (85g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (200g) brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup (56g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups (150g) pecan halves

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease your 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, whisking after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the brownies fudgy.
  4. Spread the brownie batter evenly in the prepared baking dish. Smooth the top with a spatula.
  5. In another mixing bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir in the pecan halves until fully coated.
  6. Carefully pour the pecan pie mixture over the brownie batter, spreading evenly to cover the surface.
  7. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes. You’ll know it’s ready when the brownie base is set and the pecan topping is bubbly and golden.
  8. Remove the brownies from the oven and allow them to cool completely on a wire rack. This helps the layers set and makes slicing easier.
  9. Once cooled, slice into squares and enjoy the rich, gooey goodness!
