These Prosciutto Wrapped Mozzarella Bites are a quick and easy appetizer that combines salty prosciutto, creamy mozzarella, and fresh basil for a gourmet experience.

Ingredients

  • Thinly sliced prosciutto
  • Small fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini), drained
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Olive oil
  • Freshly ground black pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Drain the mozzarella balls and pat them dry with paper towels.
  3. Take a slice of prosciutto and lay a basil leaf on top. Place a mozzarella ball on the basil leaf and gently wrap the prosciutto around the mozzarella, securing the edges.
  4. Place each wrapped mozzarella bite seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Lightly drizzle the bites with olive oil.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the prosciutto is crispy and the mozzarella has just started to melt.
  7. Allow the bites to cool for 2-3 minutes before serving.

Notes

[‘Pat the mozzarella dry before wrapping to prevent sogginess.’, ‘Thinly sliced prosciutto is easier to wrap and crisps better.’, ‘Watch closely while baking to avoid overcooking.’, ‘Experiment with fillings like sun-dried tomatoes or crushed red pepper for extra flavor.’]
