These Spooky Pumpkin Deviled Eggs are a festive and delicious twist on the classic recipe, perfect for Halloween parties, Thanksgiving gatherings, or any fall-themed bash.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Chives for garnish
  • Optional: pinch of garlic powder or cayenne

Instructions

  1. Place the large eggs in a medium saucepan and cover them with cold water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let them simmer for 10 minutes.
  2. Transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for at least 5 minutes.
  3. Carefully peel the eggs and slice them in half lengthwise. Remove the yolks and place them in a mixing bowl.
  4. Add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, white vinegar, paprika, salt, and black pepper to the yolks. Mix well until smooth. Use a food processor for an extra creamy filling if desired.
  5. Spoon the yolk mixture into a piping bag fitted with a round tip, or use a zip-top bag with the corner snipped off.
  6. Pipe the filling into the egg whites, slightly overfilling to create a rounded top.
  7. Using a toothpick, gently draw lines into the filling to mimic the grooves of a pumpkin.
  8. Sprinkle a little extra paprika over the top for a deeper orange shade.
  9. Cut the chives into small pieces and insert them into the top of each egg to create the ‘pumpkin stem.’
  10. Arrange your Spooky Pumpkin Deviled Eggs on a festive platter and serve chilled.

Notes

[‘Older eggs are easier to peel. If using fresh eggs, add a splash of vinegar to the boiling water to loosen the shells.’, ‘For a smoother filling, use a food processor or press the yolks through a fine mesh sieve.’, ‘Boil and peel the eggs ahead of time, but pipe the filling just before serving for the freshest flavor.’, ‘Experiment with variations like adding cayenne for spice or using avocado for a creamy twist.’]
