These bite-sized mini cheeseburger sliders are quick, easy, and perfect for kids and family gatherings. Juicy beef patties with melty cheese on soft slider buns make a crowd-pleasing meal.

  • 1 pound (450 grams) ground beef (80/20)
  • 8 mini slider buns (preferably brioche-style)
  • 8 thin slices American or cheddar cheese
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened (for toasting buns)
  • Optional toppings: ketchup, mustard, pickles, lettuce

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, finely chopped onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions (about 2 ounces or 55 grams each). Roll each into a ball and flatten to about 2.5 inches (6 cm) diameter.
  3. Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat for about 3 minutes. Add a light coating of oil or butter if needed.
  4. Place patties in the skillet with space between each. Cook for 3-4 minutes on the first side until juices pool and bottom is browned.
  5. Flip patties carefully and immediately place a slice of cheese on each. Cook another 3 minutes or until cheese melts and internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  6. While patties cook, spread softened butter on cut side of slider buns. Toast in a separate pan or toaster oven until golden and slightly crisp, about 1-2 minutes.
  7. Assemble sliders by placing each patty on a toasted bun bottom. Add desired toppings and cover with bun crown. Press lightly.
  8. Serve warm immediately for best flavor and texture.

Notes

Do not overmix the meat to keep patties juicy. Use a meat thermometer to ensure patties reach 160°F (71°C). Toast buns with butter to prevent sogginess. Patties can be kept warm in a low oven before serving. For gluten-free, use gluten-free buns or lettuce wraps. Patties can be frozen individually for up to 2 months.
