A simple, colorful grazing board featuring creamy American cheese, fresh berries, and crunchy crackers, perfect for summer parties and quick entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (225 g) American cheese block, sliced about 1/4 inch thick
  • 1 cup (150 g) fresh strawberries, washed, hulled, and sliced if large
  • 1 cup (150 g) fresh blueberries, washed and dried
  • 1 cup (150 g) red seedless grapes, washed and halved (optional)
  • 2 cups (100 g) assorted crackers (whole grain or water crackers recommended)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) honey, raw or wildflower
  • A small handful fresh mint leaves
  • 1/2 cup (60 g) roasted almonds or pecans, lightly salted or plain (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the fruits: rinse strawberries, blueberries, and grapes under cold water. Pat dry gently with paper towels. Hull and slice strawberries if large, halve grapes if using. Set aside.
  2. Slice the American cheese: using a sharp knife, cut the block of American cheese into uniform slices about 1/4 inch (6 mm) thick. Arrange slices neatly on the board in groups or fanned out for visual appeal.
  3. Arrange crackers: place assorted crackers in clusters around the board, balancing colors and shapes for an inviting look.
  4. Add berries and grapes: scatter strawberries, blueberries, and grapes in small piles between cheese and crackers to create a natural flow.
  5. Sprinkle nuts and mint: add roasted almonds or pecans for crunch, placing them in small bowls or directly on the board. Tuck fresh mint leaves throughout to brighten colors and add aroma.
  6. Drizzle honey: lightly drizzle honey over the berries and cheese, or serve it in a small bowl on the side for guests to add extra sweetness.

Notes

Use a block of American cheese rather than processed slices for better texture and flavor. Keep berries dry to avoid soggy crackers. Arrange items with texture contrast in mind. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. For dairy-free or gluten-free adaptations, use plant-based cheese alternatives and gluten-free crackers or veggie sticks.
