A quick and easy recipe for tender, sticky, and flavorful BBQ ribs using just pork ribs, honey, and garlic. Perfect for summer cookouts and minimal ingredient cooking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 to 3 pounds baby back ribs or spare ribs
  • ½ cup (120 ml) pure honey
  • 4 to 5 cloves garlic, finely minced or pressed
  • Salt and pepper, to taste (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) apple cider vinegar or lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Remove the silver skin membrane from the back of the ribs if attached. Pat ribs dry with paper towels and season lightly with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine ½ cup honey with 4 to 5 minced garlic cloves. Stir in 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or lemon juice if using. Mix well.
  4. Place ribs on a large piece of aluminum foil on a baking sheet. Brush a generous layer of the honey garlic glaze over the ribs, then wrap tightly with foil to create a sealed packet.
  5. Bake the foil-wrapped ribs in the oven for 1.5 to 2 hours, until meat pulls easily from the bone but is not dry.
  6. Carefully unwrap the ribs and brush another thick layer of honey garlic glaze all over.
  7. Switch oven to broil and place ribs under the broiler for 3 to 5 minutes, watching closely to caramelize the glaze without burning.
  8. Let ribs rest for 5 minutes before slicing between the bones. Serve warm.

Notes

Remove the silver skin membrane for better flavor absorption and tenderness. Cook ribs low and slow at 300°F to keep them juicy. Apply glaze at the end and broil briefly to avoid burning the honey. Watch the broiler closely as honey caramelizes quickly. Leftovers keep well refrigerated for 3-4 days or frozen up to 3 months.
