A simple, festive, and crowd-pleasing charcuterie board featuring red, white, and blue ingredients perfect for patriotic summer entertaining.

Ingredients

  • Sharp cheddar cheese, cubed
  • Soft goat cheese log, sliced
  • Blue cheese crumbles (optional)
  • Thinly sliced prosciutto
  • Chorizo slices or pepperoni
  • Salami rounds
  • Strawberries, halved or whole
  • Blueberries
  • Green grapes or kiwi slices
  • Assorted crackers (multigrain and water crackers)
  • Roasted almonds or pecans
  • Mini pretzels or crispy breadsticks
  • Honey
  • Fig jam or spicy mustard
  • Fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs
  • Optional: edible flowers or small American flags on toothpicks

Instructions

  1. Remove cheeses from the fridge about 30 minutes before assembling to let them soften slightly. Cube the cheddar, crumble blue cheese if using, and slice the goat cheese log into rounds. Arrange cheeses spaced out on your board.
  2. Roll or fold prosciutto slices for visual interest and stack chorizo and salami neatly. Position meats near cheeses to encourage pairing. Slice pepperoni into thin rounds if using.
  3. Rinse strawberries, blueberries, and grapes under cold water. Pat dry with paper towels. Halve strawberries and slice kiwis thinly if using. Group fruit in clusters, balancing red and blue sections.
  4. Place crackers and pretzels in small piles or fan shapes around the edges. Scatter nuts in small bowls and tuck them between other ingredients to fill empty spaces.
  5. Spoon honey and fig jam into ramekins. Place small spreaders or spoons for easy serving. Garnish the board with fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs tucked among the items.
  6. Fill any empty spots with extra fruit, nuts, or herbs. Add decorative elements like tiny flags or edible flowers. Wipe any stray crumbs from the board edges.

Notes

Let cheeses sit at room temperature for at least 20 minutes before serving for best flavor and texture. Keep crackers separate until serving to avoid sogginess. Prepare fruit and meats ahead of time and assemble just before guests arrive. Use dairy-free cheese alternatives and gluten-free crackers for allergy-friendly options.
