A quick and easy 5-minute summer drink recipe combining fresh strawberries, lemon juice, vodka, and ice for a refreshing and boozy slushie perfect for hot days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 23 lemons)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup vodka
  • 3 cups ice cubes (crushed or whole)
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • Optional: fresh mint leaves for garnish
  • Optional: lemon zest for extra brightness
  • Optional: club soda for a fizzy finish

Instructions

  1. Rinse, hull, and slice about 1 cup of fresh strawberries.
  2. Roll 2-3 lemons on the counter, then cut and squeeze to yield about 1/2 cup of fresh lemon juice.
  3. Add strawberries, lemon juice, and 1/4 cup granulated sugar into the blender. Pulse a few times to break down the fruit and dissolve the sugar until smooth but slightly textured.
  4. Pour in 1 cup vodka and 1/2 cup cold water, then add 3 cups of ice cubes. Secure the lid tightly.
  5. Blend on high speed for 1-2 minutes until thick and slushy. Adjust consistency by adding more water if too thick or more ice if too thin.
  6. Pour into chilled glasses and garnish with a strawberry, lemon slice, or mint sprig. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh strawberries and fresh lemon juice for best flavor. Pulse blend first to avoid overheating the blender. Chill glasses before serving for a colder drink. Adjust sugar to taste. Use crushed ice for faster blending but expect quicker dilution. For a fizzier drink, replace half the water with club soda after blending.
